During the COVID-19 pandemic it is imperative that we maintain social distancing, but that doesn’t mean everything has stopped. Numerous Puget Sound organizations are offering online virtual events and video classes. We encourage you to join in!

    August is the time to prepare your garden for October and November harvests. How? Which plants should you be putting in the ground? Learn how to prepare for a fall garden, even as summer vegetables and peaches, blueberries and plums are being harvested. Also, learn about multiple ways to compost garden refuse.

    The well-loved IN THE SPIRIT Festival will be held in person in the Tacoma Museum District! Visit the participating museums free of charge. Meet artist vendors at each location to learn more about their crafts and purchase their works. Activities at the museums invite visitors to engage in artmaking and in celebrating the techniques and knowledge of Native artists.

    Hula is a visual dance form of storytelling from Polynesia, which was developed in Hawai’i and has more recently become a popular form of exercise. Learn through some basic hula steps and use our bodies to develop a hula “vocabulary”. At the end of class, you will have a story to tell, using these beautiful movements!
